What A Ghoul Wants: Gift Ideas For Your Spooky Girl

July 23, 2019 No Comments

Spooky girls, creepy girls, metal chicks, horror babes, living dead girls. The demographic goes by many unique names, but the core is the same. A molten center of gothic aesthetics and a passion for serial killers; a spongy nightmare-fueled outer shell, and bats for sprinkles. The song by Arctic Monkeys said it best:

You got your H. P. Lovecraft
Your Edgar Allan Poe
You got your unkind of ravens
And your murder of crows
Catty eyelashes
And your Dracula cape
Been flashing triple A passes
At the cemetery gates

You’re So Dark

Now, I happen to know a thing or two about what a ghoul wants, and have compiled a list of gift ideas if you’ve just so happened to become ensnared by the spells of a spooky girl and want to impress the hell out of her and show her that you know her down to the depths of her dark gothic soul.

Gift Ideas

  1. Tarot cards
  2. Crystals
  3. A Sex Bomb
  4. Taxodermy
  5. Animal skull
  6. Band Merch
  7. An O-ring collar
  8. Horror novels
  9. Voodoo doll
  10. Incense
  11. Candles
  12. Journal
  13. Sketchbook
  14. Serial killer biography books
  15. Witchy wine
  16. Post mortem daguerreotypes (Ebay has a ton)
  17. Anatomy art prints
  18. Horror movies
  19. Tickets to a horror convention
  20. Sephora giftcard
  21. A limited edition book on witchcraft
  22. Local gothic artwork
  23. WWE tickets
  24. For Strange Women perfume
  25. Goosebumps collection
  26. Tattoo gift card
  27. Books about aliens
  28. A subscription to Audible
  29. Black tank tops
  30. Crow hairpiece
  31. Leather moto jacket
  32. Leather driving gloves
  33. Scores to her favorite horror movies
  34. A collection of ghost stories
  35. Moon necklace
  36. Palo Santo
  37. Zippo lighter
  38. Black leggings
  39. Salt lamp
  40. Makeup remover

I could go on, but 40 is a good place to start. Remember, you should be buying for your spooky girl specifically, so if she’s not into any of this, don’t just buy her things because you think it fits the aesthetic. The aforementioned items are all things I have on my wish list, but they may not be what’s on her wish list. That being said, not all spooky girls are born to the same darkness. Take time to get to know her and then maybe use this list to get inspiration for specific items to give her.

Bonus points for gothic wrapping paper too. Try layering up some black tissue paper and using Halloween stickers to seal it all together. Traditional spooky girl colors consist of purple, green, orange, and (mostly) black.
